City Offices Will Be Closed Monday All City of Water Valley Offices and departments will be closed Monday, January 15, 2007 for a State holiday. Monday’s garbage route will run with Tuesday’s garbage route.
Principals Question Set for Jan. 16 Water Valley High School Principal Glenn Kitchens invites everyone to come to the high school library on Tuesday, January 16th, begriming at 5:00 p.m.. for a time of sharing. Principal Kitchens says, “Please come prepared to ask questions, share ideas and voice concerns. Everyone is invited to attend this informal gathering and then remain on campus for the basketball game against Nettleton beginning at 6:00 p.m..”
Historical Society Meets The Yalobusha County Historical Society, Inc., will meet at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, January 18, in the fellowship hall of the Methodist Church in Coffeeville. Dr. Cecil Fayard, pastor of the Elliot Baptist Church, and a Civil War buff, will speak on "The George Washington/Robert E. Lee Connection." The public is invited.
Renesant Bank Offers Travel Program The Yalobusha County Homemakers and Renasant Bank will host a “Travel” Program on January 16, 2007, beginning at 10:00 a.m.. in the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building. The travel director from Renasant Bank will be on hand to discuss the 2007 trips offered through the bank, as well as giving additional travel tips. The public is invited to attend.
Lonnie McClenic Band To Play VFW Dance Saturday Night On Saturday night, January 13th, VFW Post 4100 welcomes you to a musical night of entertainment by the Lonnie McClenic Band. The band starts at 8 p.m.. and plays until midnight. “Join us in listening or dancing to country music at the VFW Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley,” stated Commander Joe Gross.

Free Education and Support for Families With Relatives Of Serious Mental Illness NAMI Mississippi (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will be offering a free 12-week course beginning Saturday, January 20th from 9:00:30 a.m.. in the Magnolia Room of Baptist Memorial Hospital for family members of individuals who have a serious mental illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and others. Topics covered include brain biology, treatment, coping and communication skills. Many families describe this program as life changing. VFW Bingo To Be Played Friday Night VFW Bingo will be played Friday night, January 12th.
