Laine Austin Burns
  Will and Michelle Burns are pleased to announce the birth of a son, Laine Austin Burns, on July 8, 2006, in the Special Delivery Services of Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford. He weighed seven pounds, thirteen ounces, and was twenty and one-half inches long.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are Mike and Judy Glick, Eddie and Connie Rogers, and Wayne and Marcie Burns, all of Water Valley. Also welcoming the new baby is his big brother, Keaten Burns.


  The marriage of Ashley Brianne Wynn and Joshua Garrick Byford was celebrated in a candlelit ceremony on the evening of June 24, 2006, in Brandon Baptist Church.
  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dair Wynn, Jr. of Brandon. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Masopust of Jackson, the late Pearl Wynn Crockroft and the late Walter D. Wynn, Sr. Serving as honorary grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Szermeta of Summerville, South Carolina, great aunt and uncle of the bride.
  The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wilder of Water Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Donald P. Byford of Coffeeville. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Thomas of Water Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Byford of Coffeeville.
  Rev. Farley Earnest officiated the double ring ceremony. Nuptial music was presented by Scherry Gilliland, organist, Connie Salter, pianist, Bethany Daniel, violinist, and Pamela George, vocalist.
  Escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of ivory silk satin. The bodice featured a halter neckline with hand-sewn crystal bugle beads and clear stones accented by silver embroidery. The A-line skirt featured the same exquisite detail down the back and along the chapel-length train. A fingertip veil of silk illusion edged in satin completed the ensemble. Her only jewelry was a diamond and pearl ring, a gift from the bridegroom and diamond and pearl earrings from her maternal grandmother. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and ivory roses and calla lilies. Tied in her bouquet was an heirloom pearl and silver rosary.
  Attending the bride as matron of honor was Caroline Britt Gilbert. Bridesmaids were Miriam Dale Griffin, Melanie Ruth Casey, Natalie Hall Methvin, and Jennifer Shows Wynn, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore Alfred Sung halter gowns of renaissance satin in midnight with a deep “V” neckline that gathered at the empire waistline. They carried bouquets of white roses.
  Attending the groom as best man was Barry Matthew Weeks. Groomsmen were George Hanks Jones, Jr., Jonathan Wesley Robertson, William Lea Thibodeaux, and Justin Cory Wynn, brother of the bride. Ushers were Chad Tolleson and Trey Holland.
  Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at River Hills Club where guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and an evening of dancing.
  On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at Hal & Mal’s in Jackson.
  Following a honeymoon to Key West, the couple resides in Southaven.

Alexandrea Nicole Allen
  LaRhonda White and Pierre Allen of Water Valley are pleased to announce the birth of a daughter, Alexandrea Nicole Allen, born July 27, 2006, at Oxford in the Special Delivery Services of Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi. She weighed six pounds, eleven ounces at birth.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are Joann and Bennie White of Water Valley and Steve Allen, also of Water Valley.
  The new baby is also being welcomed by a big brother, Jerimyah, and a nephew, Justin.


  Mrs. Annie Gooch of Water Valley announces the approaching marriage of her daughter, Shenita Gooch, to Ralph Horton.
  Ralph is the son of Clayton and Ethel Horton of Coffeeville. He is a grandson of the late Birth and Floy Horton of Coffeeville and also the late Cleve Steen of Bruce and Ruby Steen of Coffeeville.
  Shenita is a granddaughter of the late Watt and Annie Benson of Water Valley.
  The groom-elect is a graduate of Coffeeville High School. He is employed by the Missisisppi Army National Guard as a Recruiter and Career Counselor Assistant for Grenada, Carroll, and Montgomery Counties.
  Shenita is a graduate of Water Valley High School and is employed by the Coffeeville School District.
  Wedding vows will be exchanged in a private ceremony with a few friends and family Saturday, August 19, 2006. The couple asked for your prayers in their upcoming wedding.

Kaylin Brooke Hubbard
Michael and Judy Hubbard of Pope announce the birth of their daughter, Kaylin Brooke Hubbard, born August 2, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She weighed 9 pounds and 13 ounces.
Grandparents are John Ford Sr. of Water Valley, Judy Karr of Pontotoc and Herman and Alice Hubbard of Batesville. Great-grandparents are Billy Ford of Water Valley, Myrtle Cosby of Courtland and Rosemary Hubbard of Pope.

  Stacy and Ethel Woodard of Water Valley are pleased to annoucne the birth of a son, Jalvin De’Wayne Woodard, on July 19, 2006, in the Special Delivery Services of Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford. He weighed eight pounds, nine ounces.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are Ethel O. Phillips and the late Baby Ray Phillips of Water Valley, and Ernestine Woodard and the late Woodrow Daniels, also of Water Valley.
  Also welcoming the new baby are Ty’Quarrius, Za’Kiyah, Marcu, Jessica, and Michael, and God Parents’s, Dee and Katina Johnson.


  Stacy Woodard and Ethel Phillips would like to announce their marriage. The two were united in Holy Matrimony August 14, 2006, during a private ceremony in Memphis.
  Stacy is the son of Ernestine Woodard and the late Woodrow Daniels. He is employed at Willams Transfer and Storage in Tupelo. Ehtel is the daughter of Ethel Olivia Phillips and the late Baby Ray Phillips. She is a graduate of the Class of 2001.


  Melissa Looney became the bride of Charlie Greer on August 4, 2006, in a private ceremony in Hot Springs, Arkandas.
  Melissa is the daughter of Jim and Diane Jackson of Oakland and the late Gene Looney. Charlie’s parents are Charles Greer of Tillatoba and Billy Joe Crawford of Grenada.
  The newlyweds are making their home in Tillatoba.


Mr. and Mrs. Randy Cook of Charleston, MS are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jami Elizabeth, to Will Parrish, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Parrish of Water Valley.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Mabry McMillan of Water Valley, the late Mr. Hayes Cook and Mrs. Lillian Rowe of Sledge, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Denman, Sr. of Charleston.
She is the 2000 graduate of Strider Academy in Charleston and a 2005 graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland, where she earned a bachelor‚s degree of science in nursing. She is presently a nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto emergency room in Southaven.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dickey of Jackson, TN and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh W. Parrish, Sr. of Suffolk, VA.
He is a graduate of Water Valley High School and Delta State University, where he earned a bachelor‚s degree in criminal justice wildlife law enforcement. He is currently a police officer in Oxford, MS.
The couple will exchange wedding vows at 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, at Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley. All friends and relatives are invited to attend the ceremony and reception.

Hannah Catherine White
Jordan and Shellie White of Pascagoula, MS, proudly announce the birth of their first child, a daughter named Hannah Catherine White. She was born at Singing River Hospital at 10:52 AM on May 8, 2006. She weighed seven pounds six ounces and was twenty inches long.
Hannah is also welcomed by grandparents Ralph and Dee Young of Quitman, MS, and Tommy and Linda White of Water Valley.
Great-grandparents include Herman and Mamie Young of Saltillo, MS; Paul and Lurline Dixon of Summit, MS; and C.W. (Bill) White of Hernando, MS.

Logan O’Neil McCord
  Robert and Tami McCord are proud to announce the birth of their son, Logan O’Neil McCord, on July 19, 2006, in Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County at New Albany. The baby weighed six pounds, six ounces at birth.
  Joining in welcoming him are his brother, Hunter Ashford, his sister, Alyssa McCord, maternal grandparents, Rhonda and David Burrowes of Water Valley, paternal grandparents, Cindy Estock of Hernando, and Ron and Tonya McCord of Ocean Springs.
  Also welcoming his are: maternal great-grandparents, Hazel and Dan Methvin, and Billie and Ralph Mahan, all of Water Valley; and paternal grandparents, Bobby and Jackie McCord, George and Francis Estock, all of Oxford, and Billy and Marjorie Anderson of Wiggins.
