Jake Riley Wagner
  Scott and Tempe Suratt Wagner of Acworth, Georgia announce the birth of their second child, a son, Jake Riley Wagner, at 12:14 a.m. Sunday, October 8, 2006, in the in Kennistone Hospital. The young man weighed seven pounds, thirteen ounces at birth.
  Proud grandparents are Eva Mitchell Dillard of Acworth, Georgia and Bobby Suratt of Water Valley.
  Jake is also being welcomed by his big sister, Taylor, age 6 years.

Dustin Allen Beard
  William Beard II and Samantha Sims of Water Valley are pleased to announce the birth of a son, Dustin Allen Beard, on October 9, 2006, in the Special Delivery Services of Baptist Memorial Hospitals—North Mississippi at Oxford. He weighed seven pounds and three ounces.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are Billy Joe and Patricia Sims and William, Jr. and Lucy Beard, all of Water Valley.
  Also welcoming the new baby are cousins, Christy Sims and Zachary Beard.


Kerri Frances Darrow and Brent Michael Kitchens were married on July 1, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Abbeville. The ceremony was officiated by Bro. Randy Hope.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gurner of Abbeville and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Darrow of Gilbert, AZ. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Darrow of Tustin, CA, and Mrs. Betty Gurner of Water Valley. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Mathis of Water Valley.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Kitchens of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Len Kitchens of Yocona and Mrs. Marjorie Klepzig and the late Mr. Glen Klepzig of Abbeville.
Nuptial music was provided by Robert Riggs, violinist; Andrew Gordon, pianist; Kelly Burns, vocalist; Marta Dees, vocalist; and Wayne Irby, guitarist.
The bride was given away by her father. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Dottie Stovall of Memphis, TN, and Kristie Mooneyham of Oxford as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jakie Kitchens of Abbeville, sister of the groom; Andrea Gurner of Oxford, sister of the bride; and Amanda Casey of Coldwater, sister of the bride. The flower girl was Maddie Klepzig, cousin of the groom. The ring bearers, Will Traylor and John Traylor, were cousins of the groom.
Serving as best man was Adam Vinson of Oxford. Groomsmen were Ron Kitchens, father of the groom; Richard Gurner, stepfather of the bride; and Kurt Darrow of Monroe, MI, uncle of the bride. Jessica Bruce of Kennett, MO, friend of the groom, served as groomsmaid. Ushers were Kyle Darrow of Mira Loma, CA, cousin of the bride; Jeremy Roy of Abbeville, cousin of the groom; and Wes Klepzig of Abbeville, cousin of the groom.
Program and guestbook attendants were Kaley Weakly of Mira Loma, CA; Chelsie Mathis of Ellendale, TN; and Kelsey Weakly of Mira Loma, CA, all cousins of the bride. Stand-in-bride was Jordan Chitwood of Chandler, AZ, friend of the bride.
After the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Oxford Conference Center with music by Wedding Festival String Quartet.
The ceremony and reception flowers were beautifully coordinated by Connie Alford. The reception was catered by Betsy Alloway and Lynn Klepzig. Family and friends of the bride and groom helped serve. The wedding director was Sara Irby of Abbeville.
The day before the wedding, the bride was honored by her aunts at a bridesmaids' luncheon at the home of Mrs. Jean Abrams of The Colonel's Quarters. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Klepzig.
Following a honeymoon in St. Lucia, West Indies, the couple is at home in Collierville, TN.

 Max and Sandra Nichols of Bruce announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Angela Gayle, to John David Embry son of David and Debbie Embry of Pittsboro.
  Angie is the paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Nichols, Sr. and the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Redwine, all of Water Valley. The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Bruce High School and she is employed at BanCorp South in Bruce.
  John’s paternal grandparents are Mrs. Bernice Embry and the late Floyd Embry, and his maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. E. R. “Buck” Ferguson, all of Bruce. The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Bruce High School and he is employed with the family business, Punkin Center Frames.
  Wedding vows will be said in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, located on Highway 32, East of Bruce, Saturday, November 4, 2006 at six o’clock in the evening. All friends and family are invited to attend.
