Rowan Thomas Baker
Jason and Lara Baker of Pope are happy to announce the birth of their son, Rowan Thomas Baker, born August 15, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He weighed 9 pounds and 3 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long.
Grandparents are Carlock and Hilda Broome of Pope and Jimmy and Nancy Chandler Baker of Batesville. His great-grandmother is Mrs. Inez Baker of Batesville.
His proud big sister is Anna Katherine, 3.

Bryson Greer Vanlandingham
Jamey Maison Vanlandingham

  Leslie Dale, Jr. and Cynthia Michele Vanlandingham of Water Valley announce the birth of twin sons, Bryson Greer Vanlandingham and Jamey Maison Vanlandingham, August 26, 2006, in the Special Delivery Services of Baptist Memorial Hosptial—North Mississippi at Oxford.
  Bryson Greer weighed four pounds, eight ounces and Jamey Maison weigh five pounds.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are Patsy Marie Luscious of Calhoun City and Leslie and Alice Vanlandingham of Water Valley.
  Also welcoming the new babies are four sisters and one brother.


Wallace Crumby and Inez Hayles were married on September 27, 1946. They will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

  J. T. and Sarah Martin were married on September 8, 1956. The couple will celebrate with a reception hosted by their children September 17, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Coffeeville, from two until four o’clock in the afternoon. The event will begin with the renewal of vows at 2:00 p.m. and the reception will follow immediately in the family life center.
  All family and friends are invited to attend and share in this anniversary celebration. No loval invitations will be mailed and it is requested, no gifts please.

Mallory Jean Tidwell
  Robert D. Tidwell and Holly Griffin of Water Valley announce the birth of a daughter, Mallory Jean Tidwell, born on September 7, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi in Oxford.
  She weighed nine pounds, twelve ounces at birth.
  Sharing honors as grandparents are: James and Barbara Griffin of Water Valley, Ann Lilja of Water Valley and the late Malcolm E. Tidwell of Covington, Tennessee.
  Also welcoming the new baby is her brother, Peyton Griffin.


Mr. and Mrs. David Gilley of Water Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Lanny Hillhouse of Bruce are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Amanda Lynn Gilley and Colby Lance Hillhouse.
Miss Gilley is the granddaughter of Lillian McCurdy of Batesville and the late Ken Kelsoe and Charles McCurdy, and Vivian and the late Barnett Gilley of Water Valley.
She is a 2003 graduate of Water Valley High School and a 2005 graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College. She is a surgical technician with Dr. Allen Ligon in Oxford.
Mr. Hillhouse is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. S. Gale Denley of Bruce, Barbara Lantrip of Banner, and the late Willie Hillhouse, and the great-grandson of Maggie Denley of Bruce and the late Sellers Denley.
He is a 1999 graduate of Bruce High School and attended Northwest Mississippi College. He is employed by Lynn Inman Cooling and Heating of Bruce.
Wedding vows will be exchanged Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 6 o’clock in the evening at First Baptist Church in Bruce. No invitations are being sent locally, but all family and friends are invited to attend.


  Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Babb of Oxford and Thomas Herman Edwards II of Water Valley announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Tabitha Lea Edwards, to Thomas Bradley Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Jackson of Oxford.
  The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Clarence Smith and the late Mrs. Lavern Smith of Water Valley and Mrs. Martha Edwards and the late Tom Edwards, also of Water Valley. She is a 1996 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2005 graduate of William Carey Christian College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is employed at Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi in the Intensive Care Unit.
  The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Evans and the late Harvey Thomas Evans of Oxford, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Jackson, also of Oxford. He is a 1995 graduate of Oxford High School and attended Northwest Mississippi Community College. He is currently working for the Lafayette County Detention Center, and Yalobusha General Hospital as an EMT.
  Wedding vows will be exchanged at seven o’clock in the evening on Friday, October 6, 2006, in First Christian Church at Water Valley, with the reception to follow. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
  After the ceremony the couple plans to reside in Water Valley.
